Body Beast: Day 1

I was at my wit's end. 20 lbs overweight and eating like garbage... I lost it all only to gain it again a couple years later during a challenging summer. Not my finest moment. But there's a funny thing about hitting your personal bottom... you have two choices--stay where you are or do something about it. And at that point, you start thinking "Why the hell not just try something new?"

So here I go, back in it!! I'm doing Body Beast for my workouts and using a container plan to make sure my portions are good and I'm eating the right types of foods throughout the day. I'm posting all day on Instagram if ya'll want to follow along (find me @shannonambroson), and I'll check in daily here as well.

I'm following a container plan with 1500 calories a day. I'm needing to lose weight, so keeping the calories lower means I'll need to keep the weights lower too so I don't burn too much and stall out. I'm using a few supplements--Shakeology, E&E, and Recharge. The container count comes out to 3 green, 2 yellow, 2 purple, 5 red, 1 blue and 1 orange, with 2 tsp. Foods are all "real foods". Little to no processed anything, and little to no refined sugars.

I HATE before photos, especially since I've had some amazing after photos, but it's important to know where I'm starting to remind me of where I'm going. So here it is:

Starting Weight: 150lbs

At 5'2" that weight puts a LOT of pressure on my back and knees :( I've been hurting lately! It'll feel nice to be a bit smaller and actually fit my frame again ;).

So how'd Day 1 go? Pretty well!
