Flax is one of the most powerful plant foods in the world. It is said to reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes. Flax contains omega-3 fatty acids, which are "good" fats that have been shown to have heart healthy effects. Flax seeds are easily hidden in foods, used in baking, sprinkled on cereal, and blended in smoothies.
