Chia seeds pack a large amount of nutrients with a small amount of calories and are loaded with antioxidants. They are low carb since most of the carbs in chia are fiber, and they're high in quality protein and omega 3 fatty acids. Because of the low carb high protein factor, chia tends to aid in weight loss and can lower risk of heart disease and Type 2 Diabetes. Chia seeds are also high in calcium and phosphorus to help with bone health. They're easily added to yogurt, cereal, smoothies and many other foods and a small amount packs a big punch.
